Ilkay Gundogan and Manchester City have come to a complete agreement for the German to rejoin the Premier League team.

Gundogan, 33, will agree to a one-year deal with City that includes a one-year extension option.

His City contract expires in June 2023, and he will leave Barcelona on a free transfer, just a year after joining them.

Gundogan is giving up the final two years’ worth of pay that Barcelona would have to pay him in order to make the transfer easier.

He played in more than 60% of their games the previous season, which activated the third year of his contract.

After playing 36 games in his debut season after joining Barcelona last summer, Gundogan was informed he was not in Flick’s plan.
