Arteta hints at more major Arsenal injury boosts in seven-man update

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided the latest injury updates ahead of the Premier League fixture against AFC Bournemouth, with several key players still under assessment.

The biggest boost for the Gunners is the return of Eberechi Eze, who has recovered earlier than expected from a calf problem. The England international has rejoined training and is available for selection, reports alldaysport.net

Arteta praised the midfielder’s determination, highlighting his rapid recovery and strong commitment to returning to action as quickly as possible.

However, concerns remain over several first-team players. Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Jurrien Timber, and Riccardo Calafiori all missed training sessions, raising doubts about their availability for the weekend.

Captain Ødegaard has already struggled with injuries this season, recently returning from a knee issue but picking up another knock during the midweek match against Sporting CP. He was substituted after going down off the ball in the second half.

Bukayo Saka has not featured since the Carabao Cup final and remains sidelined despite hopes of a Premier League return. Meanwhile, Timber has been managing a groin issue that has kept him out since the Everton match.

On defensive options, Piero Hincapié is still recovering after an injury sustained on international duty with Ecuador, while midfielder Mikel Merino continues his rehabilitation following foot surgery earlier this year.

Arteta remained cautious about their availability, stating that some players could still recover in time, but refused to confirm full fitness across the squad.

Despite the setbacks, Arsenal remain hopeful of fielding a competitive side as they continue their push in the Premier League title race./ALLDAYSPORT/
